The structure saw, this Monday, July 1, Jean-Marc Servat take over the presidency, succeeding Marc Poite.

The change was effective this Monday 1is July, but it has been in the works for several months. Well prepared and anticipated. After three years at the head of USAP training, Marc Poite handed over the presidency to Jean-Marc Servat. A change in gentleness for the structure, which continues its development.

A development mandate

Elected in 2021, Marc Poite focused on developing the structure. Its performance was also highlighted in the latest report from the Regional Audit Office, which studied the finances and efficiency of the three “USAP” structures: the SASP, the association and the training. And while the results of the current school year will not be final until the start of the school year, the results are very positive, particularly with the opening of new training courses. Today, between the BPJeps, the BTS and the French as a Foreign Language courses for professional players, around a hundred people receive training through the structure each year. But after only three years, Marc Poite has decided not to renew. “This mandate allowed me to manage my entry into retirement well, explains the former head of the school. But now I want to have more time for my family. Young grandfather, he will hand over to another training specialist. He also had to assume the interim, last summer, at the head of USAP association during the change of presidency between Axel Barrière and Nicolas Rodor, but also the move of his structure to the premises of the departmental committee of rugby union and the departure of the long-awaited Cité Claudion.

A former member of the CCI training structure

Jean-Marc Servat, for his part, will not be disoriented. Retired since 2021, he made a career within the training structure of the CCI of the Pyrénées-Orientales, which he managed for 20 years. He has also developed several actions directly with USAP formation, which he knows well. With Tom Brunel, the director of the structure, they will focus on continuing the current project for at least the next three years.

And there will be no downtime for the new president. Because there are quite a few projects in progress. At the start of the school year, three new training courses will open: a work-study BTS operational commercial management, the BTS tourism apprenticeship, which will be reactivated and a professional title advisor in the development of a sports structure.
