His adventure in Toulouse has been eventful, marked by titles (winner of the Top 14 in 2021 and 2024, and the European Cup in the same years), and a successful loan to Biarritz Olympique in Pro D2 (2022-2023) . It ends in the best possible way for Baptiste Germain, a Top 14 – European Cup double during a season in which he played 19 matches, including eight as a starter.

A player with a bright future

This Monday, Bayonne (12th in the last championship), announced the arrival of the 23-year-old scrum-half, in particular to fill the gap of Gela Aprasidze to Perpignan. Often relegated to the bench at Stade Toulousain, Germain has nevertheless acquired experience despite his young age. Called up in all categories of the French team (from under-16s to under-20s), Germain has always been one of the best scrum-halves of his generation.

Now, the time for confirmation is expected in the Top 14. During his loan at Biarritz, a period when Germain made a lot of progress in Pro D2, he played several times at the fly-half position, which he also found again on his return to Toulouse this season. A versatility that Bayonne hopes to benefit from until 2027.
