The Nantes fireworks will be fired from the Anne-de-Bretagne bridge on Saturday July 13, 2024 at 11 p.m.

What is the theme this year?

The chosen theme is Nantes and sportechoing the Metropolis’ hosting of several events of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Ecological impact

The city of Nantes makes the choice biodegradable materials and in smaller quantities in order to reduce waste linked to fireworks firingshe said in a statement.

Where to see the fireworks with all the construction?

In order for this event to take place in the best possible conditions, security measures will be put in place and reinforced.explains the City. Due to the construction work prior to the arrival of the new tram lines, the capacity of the Quai de la Fosse will be reduced this year. The public will still be able to watch the fireworks from the Parc des Chantiersadvises the town hall. The public will also be able to set up on Quai François-Mitterrand or on the esplanade of the memorial. Each year, more than 30,000 people attend this fireworks display.

Roads closed to traffic (cars, cyclists, pedestrians)

The security system implemented by the City of Nantes involves, during certain time slots, the total closure of the perimeter to automobile traffic (except emergency and security vehicles) but also to cyclists and pedestrians:

July 13th from 7am : closure of the Anne-de-Bretagne bridge to pedestrians and cyclists, and of the Quai de la Fosse between Place de Jacksonville and the Anne-de-Bretagne bridge (a diversion route will be put in place).

From 12 p.m. : parking prohibited in the following roads and parts of roads: quai de la Fosse, between place Jacksonville and n°43; rue Charles-Brunelière, between place du Commandant-Jean-l’Herminier and rue Jules-Vallès; rue Mazagran, between place du Commandant-Jean-l’Herminier and n°2; rue Eugène-Varlin, between the Jacksonville roundabout and rue Gabriel-Péri; rue Bâtonnier-Guinaudeau, between rue de la Verrerie and quai de la Fosse; rue de la Verrerie, in 3 spaces (2 + 1), on either side of the lighting pole NA065092; quai François-Mitterrand, between rue Arthur-III and the Anne-de-Bretagne bridge; rue des Cap-Horniers; parc des Chantiers.

From 14h : gradual closure of the perimeter, vehicle traffic prohibited in the following roads and parts of roads: boulevard Benoît-Frachon, (closure of the hopper); quai Ernest-Renaud, between n° 15 and place de Jacksonville; rue Eugène-Varlin, between n° 1 and rue Gabriel-Péri; rue Charles-Brunelière, between rue Jules-Vallès and place du Commandant-Jean-L’Herminier; place de Jacksonville; quai de la Fosse, between n°23 and place de Jacksonville; boulevard Salvador-Allende, from the pedestrian crossing located near the tram stop Gare Maritime and Jacksonville Square; Mathurin-Brissonneau Street, between No. 4 and Quai de la Fosse; Mazagran Street, between No. 2 and Commandant-Jean-L’Herminier Square; Ferréol-Bolo Street; Bâtonnier-Guinaudeau Street, between Verrerie Street and Quai de la Fosse, Cap-Horniers Street; United Nations Boulevard, between the bus stop Media library and rue Gaston-Michel; Gaston Michel, between n° 5 corresponding to the reception of the swimming pool Gloriette and the Quai de la Fosse; Quai André-Morice, in the east/west direction, between Rue Gaston-Michel and Rue de Belfort; Quai François-Mitterrand, between Rue Olympe-de-Gouges and Rue Julien-Videment; Boulevard Léon-Bureau, between Rue de la Tour-d’Auvergne and Pont Anne-de-Bretagne.

From 20h : the perimeter will be completely closed, including: quai de la Fosse jetty; quai François-Mitterrand, between rue Marguerite-Duras and rue Julien-Videment (traffic lane and pedestrian area).

From 10:30 p.m. to 11:20 p.m. : closure of the Victor-Schoelcher footbridge during the fireworks and reopening only in the direction of the island of Nantes towards the city center from 11:20 p.m. to midnight.

From 00:30 to 5:00 in the morning : gradual reopening of traffic. The Anne-de-Bretagne bridge will remain closed to pedestrians and cyclists until 4 a.m. on July 14.

Public transport: several cuts

Several changes are announced on the Tan network:

ligne 1 : from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., closed between Gare Maritime and Commerce. ;

ligne 5 : from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., terminus at the République stop (Gare de l’État, Prairie au Duc, quai des Antilles and Hangar à Bananes stops not served). Increased frequency, with a service every 15 minutes. ;

ligne 11 : from 2 p.m. until the end of service, diverted by Copernic between Mellinet and Place du Cirque. Place René-Bouhier is not served. ;

• line C20 : from 2 p.m. until end of service at (10:30 p.m.), terminus Chantenay Station;

• Ships N1 end of service 8:50 p.m., and N2: end of service 7:50 p.m.;

• ligne 81 : from 2 p.m. until end of service, terminus Chantenay Station.

Waste collection

Residents must ensure that they put their waste bins away from Friday, July 12. Any bins left in public spaces after 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 will be removed.
