Samuel Ezeala’s requests were rejected. The winger demanded 680,000 euros from his former club ASM Clermont. A sum that the Auvergne club will not have to pay according to the deliberations rendered, this Monday, July 1, by the industrial tribunal of Clermont-Ferrand.

The player and his lawyer, Arnaud Dubois, had requested compensation of nearly 680,000 euros from the Auvergne club during a hearing on 8 April for damages and interest as well as for moral and financial prejudice (up to 150,000 euros).

In an interview with The Team, Samuel Ezeala estimated that from July 1, 2023, he should have received three years’ salary, according to a “written agreement” that he would have made with the Clermont leaders. In the columns of Rugby Rama, Didier Retière, director of sports development, replied by stipulating that “no written agreement was signed. There were exchanges of emails, that’s all”. Having left for Pau last season, where he played 20 matches and scored 9 tries, Samuel Ezeala will play next season at Stade Français.
