Maroc Fruit Board recently held its 6thth annual international conference under the captivating theme of “Green Logistics: Sustainable Pathways to Decarbonization”, held at the Sofitel Royal Bay Agadir Hotel.

The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Wali of the Souss Massa Region, Mr. President of the Souss Massa Region, Mr. President of the Souss Massa Chamber of Agriculture, Representatives of local authorities and a large Moroccan and international logistics community.

In his opening speech, Mr. President of Maroc Fruit Board, stressed the urgency of engaging in sustainable practices to address global climate and environmental challenges, highlighting decarbonization as an ecological necessity and a lever of competitiveness for Moroccan products for export. He also welcomed the initiatives of Maroc Fruit Board in its commitment to green logistics, reiterating his encouragement to explore the paths of decarbonization and work towards a sustainable future.

The event brought together global logistics leaders, shipping companies, road hauliers, decarbonisation experts, and fruit and vegetable industry players to explore the challenges and opportunities of reducing carbon emissions along the supply chain.

Panel discussions highlighted strategies adopted by industry stakeholders and presented innovative technological and operational solutions to achieve ambitious decarbonization goals. Particular emphasis was placed on collaboration between supply chain actors and the transformative impact of new technologies.

“Decarbonizing logistics is a major challenge that requires a collaborative and innovative approach. We are delighted to see that all participants share this vision and are actively working to implement sustainable solutions,” said Mr. Ahmed Benhaddou, Managing Director of Maroc Fruit Board and FreshTrack.

Mr. Ahmed Benhaddou also highlighted the critical importance of innovation and emerging technologies to optimize flows and promote sustainable logistics.

The conference also highlighted the competitive advantages that Morocco could develop in major international markets through greener logistics. In this respect, the importance of green maritime initiatives linking Morocco to Europe, and in particular the British market, illustrate the significant progress in the field of sustainable maritime transport and confirm the criticality of effective collaboration between logistics players for the success of the decarbonization strategy.

This event marks a significant step in the efforts of Maroc Fruit Board and its partners to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics, positioning Morocco as a key player in the ecological transformation of the global logistics sector.
