Happy Canada day ! Beryl’s trajectory and the Florida Panthers parade in the rain…

Beryl’s trajectory

The first hurricane of the season, Beryl, first reached Category 4 on June 30, then weakened to Category 3 before returning to Category 4 on July 1.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Beryl is expected to pass just south of Barbados and cross the Windward Islands, bringing “life-threatening winds and storm surge.” As it remains south of Jamaica, it will likely bring torrential rains in the Yucatan in Mexico, then heading towards Texas.

It is the first hurricane in more than 50 years to appear before July 4 in the Atlantic basin.

Although Beryl will likely stay away from Florida, parts of the Gulf Coast will need to closely monitor the storm beyond July 4.
