The results of the first round of the legislative elections were released yesterday in the Loire, revealing marked trends in the six constituencies of the department. In particular in Saint-Étienne, the first two constituencies clearly displayed their support for the New Popular Front, leaving the National Rally (RN) far behind.

First constituency: A clear advance for the Union of the Left

In the first constituency of Saint-Étienne, Pierrick Courbon, candidate of the New Popular Front, took a significant lead with 40.34% of the vote, totaling 16,778 votes. In second place, Marie Simon of the National Rally collected 31.97% of the vote, or 13,296 votes. Quentin Bataillon, representative of Ensemble! (Presidential Majority), came in third with 23.72% of the vote, equivalent to 9,864 votes.

Second constituency: The New Popular Front dominates

The trend is confirmed in the second constituency of Saint-Étienne, where Andrée Taurinya of the New Popular Front obtained an even clearer majority with 43.09% of the votes, representing 13,652 votes. Hervé Breuil of the National Rally is a notable distance away with 27.13% of the votes, or 8,595 votes. Eric Le Jaouen, of the Union of Democrats and Independents, followed closely with 23.08% of the vote, totaling 7,310 votes.
