Thursday, July 4, is a big anniversary day which will celebrate the 150 years of Desmartis nurseries and lagerstroemia with the City of Bergerac.
FA leading figure in the French horticultural landscape, Desmartis Nurseries are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year. This historic company, known and recognised in Europe and beyond, has been based in Bergerac since its creation.
Since the beginning of the year, the company’s managers have planned a program rich in events, orchestrated in partnership with the City of Bergerac, around the lagerstroemia, this emblematic plant of the region. The highlight of these celebrations, a big anniversary day, open to all, will be held on Thursday, July 4, at the Jardin Perdoux.
Meetings open to residents and visitors to the region
On the program: from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., big sale of Lager’s with Jardiland; 5 p.m., show “Snow” by the Théâtre du Vertige; 5:30 p.m., christening of the new variety of Lager’s Papillons Blancs, in honor of the association Papillons Blancs de Bergerac. A new exhibition, “Illustrations around lager’s”, will honor the plant and lagerstroemia, through the unpublished works of the illustrator Thérèse Rautureau. It will be open to the public from July 4 to September 22, at the Dordonha Cultural Center.
