It’s not always easy to find tours that will capture attention. Lyon Capitale makes it easy for you with an eclectic and original selection.

Three exceptional guided tours await you, each offering a unique immersion in emblematic and historic places.

A special moment at Le Corbusier

This guided tour is the opportunity to embark on a walking tour, accompanied by a guide who will present the local heritage of the village of Éveux, such as its Saint-Pierre church. The icing on the cake is that a picnic made up of local products is organized. The afternoon will be dedicated to a guided tour of the Couvent de la Tourette, an architectural work designed by the Swiss architect naturalized French, Le Corbusier. Finished in 1959 and listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, the convent is still inhabited by the Dominican friars.

Discovery of a super-powerful algae

A visit of a different kind, but just as interesting, is the visit to the 1,300 m² production site of the Spiraline company. For several years, the company has been cultivating spirulina, an organism comparable to a micro-algae that has existed for 3.5 billion years. Consumed for centuries by humans, it has been gaining popularity in recent decades for its various benefits: energy gain, fight against nutritional deficiencies, stimulation of the immune system, etc. An opportunity to discover the secrets of its manufacture.

Visit the longest aqueduct in France

One last guided tour to do, but not the least, that of the Roman Aqueduct of Gier which happens to be the longest aqueduct visible in France and classified as a historic monument. It will be possible to discover the history and functioning of an aqueduct, a system of canals that transports water from point A to point B. Visitors will learn about this aqueduct which played a key role in the transporting water to Lugdunum almost 87 km to Fourvière, 2,000 years ago.
