The 12th edition of Anjou Vélo Vintage was a great success this weekend in Saumur. More than 10,700 participants set off on the different routes offered, combining discovery of Saumur and a retro atmosphere. On Saturday, four vintage bike rides allowed participants, dressed in period clothing, to travel through the region under a sometimes capricious sky but without losing their smile. On Sunday, the sun accompanied the cyclists, giving them an ideal day to enjoy the picturesque refreshment points. The vintage village, the heart of the festival, vibrated throughout the weekend. Two tavern evenings ignited Saumur on Friday and Saturday evening, attracting many visitors. Place de la République welcomed 140 exhibitors, offering fashion items, vintage decoration, and flea market treasures, creating a colorful and festive atmosphere. The inauguration of the routes by elected officials on Saturday morning marked the start of the festivities, followed by highlights such as the return of the elegance competition and the Saumur window competition. Two highlights which bear witness to the enthusiasm and contagious spirit of Anjou Vélo Vintage, with the whole city and its businesses actively participating in the celebration. If the Saturday departures were a little humid and rainy (read our article again), the day was much milder this Sunday, June 30 for the Anjou Vélo Vintage participants. Whether on the courses or in the festival village, the sun was out again.
