Young neo-Nazi to be tried on appeal Monday for planning terrorist attack in 2022

A 22-year-old man is being tried on appeal this Monday, July 1. A neo-Nazi and admirer of Adolf Hitler, he was convicted in 2023 for having expressed on social networks in 2022 his desire to attack “Jews, blacks, women, the LGBT community.”

This Monday, July 1, the Paris Courthouse will host the appeal judgment of Angel B., a young 22-year-old neo-Nazi.

The young ultra-right man was sentenced in November 2023 to nine years in prison by the Paris Criminal Court.

The court cited Angel B.’s radicalism and dangerousness, finding that a planned terrorist act was likely to be carried out “imminently” upon his arrest. For good reason, the young man had sought to obtain a firearm, by contacting one of his colleagues who owned one.

ANgel B. or “HeinrichHimmler88” on the internet

It all started in 2022, when the young man was arrested in Ardèche. Before his plan to obtain a firearm, he had been spotted on social networks where he conveyed several threats of terrorist attack against women, Jewish, black, and even LGBT+ people.

In its content, the man described as unstable and resentful called Jewish people “an impure race that must be exterminated.” He also spoke of black and North African people, saying he wanted to attack “negroes” and “bougnoules”, and in discussions consulted by investigators, he had mentioned “ethnic cleansing” or an “attack in the street” .

All these hateful interactions and messages were posted under the unequivocal nickname “HeinrichHimmler88”. Heinrich Himmler, was one of the main dignitaries of the Third Reich, leader of the SS, and the number 88 refers to the eighth letter of the alphabet H, for the Nazi salute “Heil Hitler”.

While in police custody, Angel B. admitted his admiration for Nazi ideology, but denied having intended to use a weapon to commit a killing.
