It is currently an industrial wasteland which would then be reclassified. The building has been privately owned since the sale of the site by the municipality. The establishment of a DIY store in Montreuil-Juigné would meet a need of the inhabitants of the northwest of the Angers conurbation. Since the closure of the Castorama store in L’Atoll in Beaucouzé, they have the choice between the Weldom in the city center of Angers or Grez-Neuville (near Lion-d’Angers), the Eureka ma maison drugstore in the city center of Angers, the Brico Dépôt in Beaucouzé or Verrières-en-Anjou or the Leroy Merlin in Saint-Barthélémy-d’Anjou.
A Departmental Commission for Commercial Development (CDAC) will meet for the Weldom of Montreuil-Juigné on July 9. The people invited to this CDAC (local elected officials, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, etc.) will have to give their opinions on the building permit and proceed to a vote. The town hall, which occupies one of the 19 seats, intends to vote for the project. In the event of a favorable result, the instruction of the building permit would then follow its course and would have a strong chance of succeeding.
