► France-Belgium, at 6 p.m.

After a disappointing start, France and Belgium will meet for a place in the quarter-finals, at 6pm on Monday 1st July (live on TF1). France will have to resolve its offensive efficiency problems: it has only scored two goals, one an own goal by an Austrian (1-0), the other on a penalty.

Lack of realism in front of goal“was problematic in the group stage, we’re not going to hide”admits Kylian Mbappé, “But another competition begins, sudden death, we will really have to take advantage of the opportunities tomorrow (Monday)”.

Euro 2024: Mike Maignan, the all-risk insurance of the Blues

On the other side, the Belgian attack is not in great shape either. The Red Devils only scored two goals against Romania (2-0) and their star striker, Romelu Lukaku, is still dry, his three goals having been cancelled by video refereeing. The Belgians are even on bad terms with their supporters, who whistled them after the dismal 0-0 against Ukraine which ensured their qualification.

► Portugal-Slovenia, at 9 p.m.

Portugal are clear favorites against Slovenia, who will play a knockout match in a major competition for the first time in their history, at 9 p.m. (live on M6). She had come out in the groups during her previous appearances at the highest international level, the 2002 and 2010 World Cups and Euro 2000.

Euro 2024: England miraculously survive, Spain joins Germany in quarter-finals

But Slovenia, who qualified with three draws, like Denmark in their group and like… Portugal when they won Euro 2016, have nothing to lose.

The Portuguese, for their part, can count on a golden squad, the hinge formed by Rúben Dias and the « vieux » Pepe (41 years old) to Bernardo Silva and Rafael Leao in attack, passing by Bruno Fernandes and the Parisian Vitinha. But the superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is as silent as Lukaku and Griezmann. The immovable captain, 39 years old, did not score for the first time in the three group matches, he who has played in all the major competitions since Euro 2004.
