A 27-year-old man was sentenced to eight months in prison on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at the Besançon courthouse (Doubs) for violence.
The court found an alteration of its discernment during the facts, reports The Republican East Sunday June 30, 2024. He should benefit from a reduced sentence.
He bangs his girlfriend’s head against a wall
In May 2024, he assaulted his father and pushed him down the stairs. A month later, he attacked his partner while he had consumed a large amount of alcohol. He strangled her and the woman fainted. He also hit her head against a wall.
The defendant suffers from alcoholism and has been battling depression for several years. He has already spent time in a psychiatric hospital. In addition to his sentence, he will benefit from socio-judicial monitoring with a treatment order.
