“Enough is enough”: Côte-d’Or farmers launch a new mobilization

The farmers of Côte-d'Or are going on the offensive once again. Under the aegis of FDSEA 21 and Young Farmers, Act 2 of the mobilization is launched against what many consider to be stifling over-regulation, excessive controls, and unacceptable delays in due payments. Enough is enough, say the farmers who call on their colleagues to join this movement which aims to be peaceful but firmly determined.

The objective of these actions is clear: to point the finger at the administrations deemed responsible for the blockages and delays which weigh on the agricultural world, without impacting the lives of citizens, whose support is precious. “ We want concrete results. It's about targeting responsible administrations while avoiding disruption to the population that supports us. », explains the FDSEA 21.

First meeting: Montbard, French Biodiversity Office

The first gathering is planned for tomorrow, at 8 p.m. in front of the premises of the French Biodiversity Office (OFB) in Montbard. This organization is at the center of numerous grievances raised by farmers, in particular due to unannounced checks considered too frequent and intrusive. The demands are explicit: an end to all-out checks, disarmed OFB agents to promote peaceful relations, and a right to make mistakes by prioritizing prevention over repression. The OFB's blitz checks are seen as unnecessary attacks, when farmers already have considerable constraints to manage.

Second action: , Service and payment agency

The mobilization will continue on Thursday, November 28 at 2 p.m. in front of the Service and Payment Agency (ASP) in Dijon, located at 18, boulevard Winston-Churchill. Unlike the first demonstration marked by anger and the proximity of the Olympic swimming pool, this new action is intended to be targeted and strategic: a few tractors and skips will be on site to draw attention to the dysfunctions of the ASP, but always in the from the perspective of not disturbing the population.

Farmers are demanding payments for all Côte-d'Or farmers, an end to controls during periods of intense work, as well as concrete measures to simplify agricultural administration. For them, payment delays and administrative burdens become unbearable and stifle farm activity.

An increasingly determined mobilization

The farmers of the Côte-d'Or therefore intend to make themselves heard and win their case. In a context where environmental constraints are increasing, they denounce a lack of dialogue and administrative requirements which prevent the realization of their projects. Their message is clear: simplify procedures, encourage dialogue, and stop systematic repression.

These two actions, organized in front of the OFB and ASP buildings, aim to remind people that agriculture is a vital force for the Côte-d'Or. For it to prosper, it needs to be supported and not restricted by rules and controls deemed unreasonable. Farmers want to see real and concrete progress, and they do not intend to stop their mobilization until their demands are heard.
