A 34-year-old man was the victim of an off-road motorcycle accident this Sunday, June 30, 2024, afternoon, on the Châteauroux forest path, in La Chapelle-Montligeon (Orne). Seriously injured, he was airlifted to the Alençon hospital center.

A blessing from the bikers in the morning
According to our information, he was riding alone on a motocross bike in this forest and hit an obstacle. As he fell, his head hit a wooden post, causing head trauma. His family and emergency services were alerted by passers-by shortly after 4 p.m.
Five firefighters from Mauves-sur-Huisne and Longny-au-Perche were mobilized to the scene. The thirty-year-old’s condition required transport by helicopter.
Earlier in the day, many bikers had gone to the Notre-Dame-de-Montligeon basilica for the traditional biker blessing, but there is no evidence that the victim was there.
