The dance section of the Vienne-en-Val sports association (ASV Danse) organized its traditional end-of-season gala last weekend.

Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, the show Dance in my attic allowed the eleven groups to present their work of the year, in a fluid and enthusiastic staging, sprinkled with surprises. In total, more than one hundred dancers of all ages expressed themselves on the stage of the village hall.

“Before, we only did one show on Saturday but, given the number of members, the capacity of the hall no longer allows us to accommodate everyone at once,” explains Doriane Wattez, secretary of ASV Danse.

Dedicated volunteers

All year round, classes are held on Tuesdays and Fridays, with two professional teachers, Charlène and Solène, not forgetting Marina who is particularly in charge of the Zumba animation. For the show, the association can count on the help of its members. “We have a volunteer, Laétitia, who has been doing the sets for years, and for the costumes, we have two seamstresses, Léonie and Marie-Thérèse who help us”, explains Marie Van der Marlière, vice-president.

Finally, for the occasion, ASV Danse benefited from the active support of other associations in the village, such as the Focale Vienne photo club which took all the photos of the show, and the Ramdam theatre association which contributed to the logistics.

The association is already looking ahead: “Next season, we would like to offer hip-hop or African dance courses again, and a few more events around dance. If some people want to join us, that would be great,” concludes Marie Van der Marlière.
