The Étang d’artistes association, the Festival committee and the Union of traders and craftsmen of Châtillon-en-Vendelais (Ille-et-Vilaine) (UCAV) have decided to work together to organize the July 14 festivities . The Châtillon-en-Vendelais Festival Committee is at the origin of the traditional activities organized in the town on the evening of the National Day. The association’s new office, elected last March, is now co-chaired by Christine Férard and Jérôme Fadier.
“The festive day of July 14 requires a significant investment to ensure that everything is ready on time. No fewer than 100 volunteers must be found and then supervised. By joining forces, we ensure the success of this highly anticipated event for the people of Châtillon.”explains Christine Férard, new co-president of the Châtillon-en-Vendelais Festival Committee.

The program of the day
Activities begin on the morning of July 14, with two highlights led by UCAV. First, the garage sale, reserved for individuals. Exhibitors can arrive from 8 a.m. Registration is on site only. Then, the puck competition will welcome the first players in individual competitions from 8:30 a.m., and in teams from 1:30 p.m. “Our competition attracts nearly a hundred participants each year with many prizes to be won”explains Alain Berthelot, the president of UCAV. Finally, the association Étangs d’artistes offers to discover amateur painters and local creators. Painting workshops, for young and old, will allow you to test your talents.
A festive evening
The evening’s program is divided between a meal, with ham on the bone on the menu, starting at 8 p.m., and dance performances. The majorettes Les Dem’zells de Saint-M’Hervé will present their shows, followed by a performance by the Gallo-Breton dance group from Brittany and the Rennes region, the Grand Staobin. At 11 p.m., the fireworks will take place. To end the evening, the popular ball will be launched by Flashdance.
Sunday July 14, by the pond – Ham on the bone meal only by reservation in the shops of Châtillon-en-Vendelais – Price: children €8; adults €17. Catering and refreshments are provided on site.
