The Dax is expected to start rising on Monday, according to calculations by banks and brokers.
Nervousness ahead of the French elections had slowed European stock markets at the end of the week. On Friday, the Dax ended the session barely changed at 18,235 points. After the right-wing National Rally (RN) won the first round of the French legislative elections according to post-election polls, investors are eagerly awaiting the second round that will take place next Sunday. Unlike the first round, a simple majority is enough in the second round to win direct mandates in the constituencies.
The Federal Statistical Office will also publish consumer price data for June on Monday. In May, inflation rose for the first time this year. Consumer prices rose by 2.4 percent compared to the same month last year.
The President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, will open the annual monetary policy forum in Sintra, Portugal in the evening. In this small town northwest of Lisbon, central bankers and academics from around the world are meeting until July 3 to discuss the evolution of inflation and the right interest rate.
