As elsewhere in France, the National Rally (RN) has succeeded in great performance in the North during the 2024 legislative elections. Not only is Marine Le Pen’s party making a breakthrough in the department, but it is also obtaining gros scores in the Lille metropolis.

Six RN elected in the 1st round in the North, candidates in the 2nd round in Lille

The RN thus already has six deputies elected in the North from the first round in the 3rd, 12th, 16th, 18th, 19th and 20th constituencies. In the latter, the RN candidate thus eliminated the great figure of the PCF Fabien Roussel.

The National Rally also achieved impressive scores, at over 40%, in the 5th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th and 21st constituencies. That is a conquest of almost half of the constituencies in the North.

More surprisingly compared to the last elections, the RN also won over many candidates in the Lille metropolitan area. Among the highest scores: 34.31% in Tourcoing, just behind Gérald Darmanin in the 10th constituency or 31.47% in the 11th of the outgoing MP Roger Vicot.

Very much anchored on the left, the 1st and 2nd constituencies also saw an RN candidate appear in the second round of the election against the LFI Aurélien Le Coq and Ugo Bernalicis.

Finally, the RN placed candidates on ballot in the 4th and 9th constituencies. Out of 21 constituencies, the National Rally therefore won 6 and is in the second round in 14. The RN is not officially present in the second round in the 6th constituency but supported the LR candidacy of Marie-Hélène Quatreboeufs who qualified with a score of 35.07%.
