The results of the first round of the early legislative elections are known: in the third constituency of Aveyron, the candidate Pierre-Antoine Fevre (RN-LR) comes first followed by the outgoing deputy Jean-François Rousset. The New Popular Front candidate Richard Bouigue is third.

The stakes were high, the verdict is in: it will be a triangular one for the third constituency of Aveyron. The RN-LR candidate Pierre-Antoine Fevre came first in the first round, followed by the outgoing deputy Jean-François Rousset (Ensemble) then the New Popular Front candidate Richard Bouigue. Five candidates were in the running to claim the deputy seat, four fewer compared to June 2022.

The RN-LR candidate in the lead

This Sunday, June 30, on the evening of the first round of the early legislative elections, the qualified candidates for the July 7 stage are now known.

It was Pierre-Antoine Fevre (RN-LR), who received the most votes with 35.45% of the votes. The outgoing deputy Jean-François Rousset (Ensemble) placed in second position with 32.45% of the votes. Third place is occupied by the candidate of the New Popular Front Richard Bouigue, who has 28.81% of the votes in his favor.

Bernard Combes (Lutte Ouvrière), recorded 1.19% of the votes. As for Thierry Noël, present for this election under the Ecology at the center label, his score is 2.09%.

The abstention rate in the third constituency is 26.42%. For comparison, it was 44.59% in the first round in 2022.

Previous elections

As a reminder, in the first round of the 2022 legislative elections, Nupes candidate Michel Rhin came in first (27.09% of the vote), followed by Renaissance candidate Jean-François Rousset with 25.14%. In third place, former Millau mayor Christophe Saint-Pierre (LR) collected 17.6% of the vote. RN candidate Jean-Christophe Cazorla came in fourth with 15.53%.

At the end of the second round, Jean-François Rousset was elected with 53.71% of the vote. A historic election in a constituency that has always elected a member of parliament from the right to represent it. In 2017, it was Arnaud Viala, current president of the Department and then a member of Les Républicains, who was re-elected following the 2015 by-election.
