This Sunday, June 30, voters were called to the polls for this first round of early legislative elections, three weeks after the surprise dissolution of the National Assembly. Who is in the running for the second round of legislative elections in Lot-et-Garonne? After the surprise dissolution of the National Assembly, announced by President Emmanuel Macron on June 9, candidates had only three weeks to declare themselves, organize and campaign. Michel Lauzzana dethroned in the first constituency – Agen/Nérac

In the first constituency, Nicolas Delbosq (RN) comes first with 43.11% of the votes, followed by outgoing deputy Michel Lauzzana with 28.41%. Paul Vo Van (NFP) comes just behind with 25.63% of the votes.

Five candidates were competing in this first round: Michel Lauzzana (Renaissance-Together for the Republic), Sébastien Delbosq (National Rally), Paul Vo Van (EELV-New Popular Front), Patrice Cuquel, Mohamed El Marbati (Workers’ Struggle).

Member of Parliament for Lot-et-Garonne since 2017 and mayor of Bon-Encontre, Michel Lauzzana narrowly won his constituency in 2022 with 51.48% of the votes. He was then the only deputy not from the National Rally in the department.

RN largely ahead in the second constituency – Tonneins / Marmande / Casteljaloux

In the second constituency, three candidates will also face off in the second round. Hélène Laporte (RN) comes out on top with 49.31% of the vote. Behind her, Christophe Courrègelongue (PS-NFP) with 26.89% of the vote. Jean-Marie Lenzi (Renaissance) is also qualified for the second round with 21.99% of the vote.

Four candidates were competing in the constituency won in 2022 by the elected Rassemblement National Hélène Laporte. Former RN regional councilor and former European deputy, Hélène Laporte was therefore facing: Jean-Marie Lenzi (Renaissance – Together for the Republic), Christophe Courrègelongue (PS – New Popular Front) and Nathalie Lambolez (Workers’ Struggle).

A triangular shape is emerging in the third constituency Villeneuve-sur-Lot / Sainte-Livrade / Fumel

In this constituency in the east of the department, outgoing MP Annick Cousin (RN) comes far ahead with 41.08% of the votes. In the second round, she will face Guillaume Lepers (LR) who obtains 24.99% of the votes and Xavier Czapla with 18.36%.

Jérôme Cahuzac only obtained 14.56% of the votes and failed to qualify for the second round.

Hélène Laporte, elected under the colours of the National Rally in 2022, intends to keep her seat in the National Assembly. She faced three candidates on June 30: the mayor of Villeneuve-sur-Lot Guillaume Lepers (Les Républicains), the former socialist Budget Minister Jérome Cahuzac (Centre-left), the actor Xavier Czapla (LFI – New Popular Front) already a candidate in 2022 and Bernadette Gasc, employee (Lutte Ouvrière).
