Legislative elections: polls predict increased participation in France and Limousin

Next to 10,000 proxies were recorded in Haute-Vienne on the eve of this first round of legislative elections, including more than 3,300 in the city of Limoges, while the two million mark has been crossed at the national level. Two out of three voters have therefore planned to go to the polls according to the latest polls for this 1st round. A participation which would then be much higher than that of the European elections, for which only one in two voters mobilized.

However, it is difficult to say whether these proxies concern abstainers from the last election, because another parameter may have influenced this figure. Some voters have already started their summer vacation and therefore do not necessarily have the opportunity to travel for the first round of these surprise elections.

On the other hand, the rate of participation will have certain effects on the results of this first round of legislative elections and on the number of candidates qualified for the second round. They must obtain the votes of at least 12.5% of those registered in the constituencies to maintain themselves, which predicts the possible presence of three or even four candidates in the second round.
