Full success for the XV of France during the fall 2024 tour with a 3/3. A success also for TF1 with exceptional audiences for a cumulative average of 18.4 million viewers over these three matches. For the channel, this first broadcast of Blues rugby matches in November is a success.
Autumn tour: TF1 dominates France 2
TF1's results go beyond the ratings achieved by France 2 over the same period in previous editions. In 2022the public channel had achieved a historic record which had not been achieved since 2013. For the matches against Australia, South Africa and Japan, the Blues had attracted on average 14.9 million viewers cumulatively.
In 2021 with the historic victory of XV of France against New Zealand (40-25), 6.3 million French people were on average gathered in front of the historic rugby broadcaster with a peak which reached 7.6 million people.

This same poster in 2024 allowed TF1 to accumulate on average 7.3 million viewers. With a peak of 8.3 million, it even set a historic record for a match on the fall tour of the XV of France.
Same observation for the France-Argentina match of 2024 compared to that of 2021 on France 2. The private channel this Friday, November 22, accumulated an average of 6.7 million viewers while three years previously Matthieu Lartot and Dimitri Yachvili commented on the meeting against the Pumas in front 4.2 million people.
A broadcast of the 6 Nations on TF1 in 2026?
Antoine Dupont and his teammates are doing even better than Didier Deschamps' men since the start of the 2024-2025 Nations League last September. Audiences for matches the French football team have never exceeded the average 5.2 million fans.
These audiences which could boost the ambition of the main channel of the Martin Bouygues group to reach rights for the 6 Nations tournament. Held by France Television Since 1992broadcasting from 2026 will be put back on the market through a call for tenders which will be launched in January 2025.
