After their victory in the Top 14 final, the Stade Toulousain players will come and commune with their fans and present to them the Brennus Shield – but also the European Cup– this Saturday June 29, 2024, from 8 p.m., Place du Capitole, in Toulouse.

Of the thousands of supporters are expected on the most famous square in Toulouse. And to guarantee everyone’s safety, the Haute-Garonne prefecture has drawn up a whole series of measures.

“High risk of terrorist attack”

In a press release published this Saturday morning, the prefecture teams indicate:

Given the expected crowds and the high risk of a terrorist attack, Pierre-André Durand, prefect of Haute-Garonne, decided to take security measures in a protective perimeter around the Place du Capitole, applicable from Saturday June 29, from 4:00 p.m., until Sunday June 30 at 1:00 a.m.

A protection perimeter is thus put in place. It is delimited by the following roads (which are not affected).

• Foix College Street,
• Grey Penitents Street,
• Taur street,
• rue du Sénéchal,
• Remusat street,
• rue Lafayette,
• rue Ernest Roscach,
• rue du Weight de l’Huile,
• rue de la Pomme,
• Saint-Pantaleon street,
• rue Baour Lormian,
• Saint-Rome street,
• rue des Gestes,
• rue Léon Gambetta,
• Mirepoix street,
• rue Jean-Antoine Romiguières,
• rue Antoine Deville.

Filtering will be put in place to access this area at the level of rue du Taur; rue Pargaminières; rue Lafayette and rue Saint-Rome.

So plan to arrive early, there may be traffic jams to get to Place du Capitole. Security pat-downs, visual inspections and baggage searches are planned.

No fireworks

In addition, prohibitions are imposed within the protection perimeter: prohibition on carrying and transporting fireworks, firecrackers, weapons (real or fake); no dangerous animals; no transport of fuel.
