The plane was 80% full for this big premiere. Around 8am on Saturday, June 29, 2024, an ATR72 operated by the Chalair company took off for Kerry, Ireland. This route will operate every Saturday until September 21.

An encouraging start for the operator

“For now, the first reservations indicate that this line, it’s quite a success, with nearly 80% reservations for the first weekends of summer, confides Manuel Le Roux, president of the Normandy Chamber of Commerce and Industry, manager of the Caen airport. It’s an exotic destination from Caen. »

On this line, a tourist clientele is essentially expected, in one direction as in the other. “But as the line becomes known, the typology of the clientele will perhaps evolve. This type of line contributes in its own way to the development of the local economy.«
