Snow fell in abundance this Thursday, November 21, and during the night. According to Ilyès Ghouil, from Météo Franc-Comtoise, this episode had not occurred since March 2006. “At that time, near Montbéliard and Belfort, it snowed, in the space of 36 hours, between 40 and 80 centimeters of snow”.
However, according to Météo France, this episode is not exceptional. “Overall, an episode of snow at the end of November can happen, of course, it doesn't happen every season, but it has already happened,” remembers Cédric Hertzog, deputy head of the service division of Météo France north east.
The snowy episode of the last few hours is not comparable to that of 2006, but your photos posted on social networks or that you sent to us are breathtaking: Up to 30 cm in Vézelois in the Territoire de Belfort, between 20 25 cm in Sainte-Suzanne or 15 cm in the south of Luxeuil-les-Bains in Haute-Saône.
In the Jura, although accustomed to snow, the inhabitants were amazed by the white landscapes, like here in Prémanon.
In the Doubs, it fell up to 32 centimeters in Montécheroux and up to 20 centimeters in Isle-sur-le-Doubs according to Internet users.
