The interdepartmental teams of Yvelines and Hauts-de-Seine are on deck. During the cold season, 1,570 km of tracks are monitored and processed to ensure circulation fluid and secure, thanks to the mobilization of 230 agents from these two departments. At the same time, an additional 340 km, located in urban areas, are directly covered by local authorities.
Next to 160 road agents permanently mobilized, 40 agents on call 24 hours a day, 32 saleuses equipped with snow removal blades and a stock of 4,000 tons of saltdistributed across the territory's depots, with a replenishment system throughout the winter… Until March 17, the winter system is based on significant human and technical resources.
Daily weather monitoring and regular patrols aim to enable rapid intervention in the event of snow or from black ice. Depending on the condition of the roadways, the teams carry out salting or scraping operations, with the aim of guaranteeing minimum traffic conditions during extreme weather episodes and a return to normal as quickly as possible.
The Yvelines Department collaborates with farmers
Since 2011, the Department of Yvelines collaborates with the agricultural profession to strengthen interventions in rural areas. Thanks to agreements signed with 15 farmersthe latter participate in clearing snow from plain areas in the event of exceptional snow episodes, in particular for scraping roads or clearing snowdrifts.
The winter season starts with the first cold weather. The teams of Intervention and operation centers carry out preventive nighttime interventions when temperatures are around 0°C. These operations include light salting to anticipate the risk of localized ice and ensure safe traffic conditions from the early hours of the morning.
