Consequence of winter storm Caetano : power outages were reported this Thursday afternoon in Savoie (up to 2,000) and Haute-Savoie (up to 4,000), at the height of bad weather, after gusts of 110 to 120 km/h. “Dozens of Enedis agents are mobilized for the maneuvering phases all evening, they are doing their best to restore power as quickly as possible,” specifies Enedis.

Roads blocked
Following the fall of numerous trees, several roads remained closed this Thursday evening in both departments.
- Roads closed at 8:30 p.m. in Savoie: RN 90 Feissons sur Isère, RD 98 between La Tania and Meribel (diversion by the RD 915), RD 41 Yenne (Lieu-Dit “Les Palatins”, deviation by the RD 1504)
- Roads closed at 8:30 p.m. in Haute-Savoie: RD145 to Collonges-sous-Salève, RD331 Usinens
Light accidents in Savoie
The wind also caused some accidents. At 11:30 a.m., a car and a van collided in Voglans. A 44-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman, slightly injured, were transported to Chambéry hospital. Around 4 p.m., the wind also blew a car onto the A43, in the Chambéry/Grenoble direction, near La Motte-Servolex. She ended up on the roof. Luckily, the driver, a young man of 19, escaped unhurt.
Firefighters from both departments carried out some interventions for trees that had fallen on the road, tiles that had been blown away… but no major damage or casualties were reported in the Pays de Savoie following the passage of the Caetano storm.
