A dramatic discovery. A five-month-old baby was found dead this Friday at the end of the afternoon in a vehicle parked in full sun in the parking lot of a company, in the south of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), revealed La Dépêche du Midi. The Haut-Garonne public prosecutor’s office confirmed to AFP the opening of an investigation into the circumstances of the death.

A medical-psychological unit set up.

According to the local newspaper, the alert was given at around 5 p.m. after an employee of the Thales company “returns to his vehicle after his day’s work” et “discovered her baby in the back of the locked car.”

The pediatric emergency services called to the scene could only note the death of the child, victim of hyperthermia (i.e. an increase in body temperature) and severe dehydration, according to the same source. The Midi Dispatch also specifies that a medico-psychological emergency unit has been set up by the Samu.
