The day of Friday, November 22 promises to be complicated given the snowfall caused by storm Caetano in the South Channel. Météo France places the department on orange alert until 12 p.m. for snow and ice. New snowy episodes could occur during the evening of Thursday, but especially at the end of the night and the beginning of the day on Friday. 2 to 5 cm could be added to the 10 to 20 cm that fell locally today.
With the expected low temperatures, refreezing phenomena should occur during the night and complicate traffic in the morning. In addition to the orange alert, a storm yellow alert appears from 12 a.m. This should last until 3 p.m.
Transport suspended until midday
The Normandy Region announces the suspension of its public transport for the entire morning of Friday, until 12 p.m., the end time of orange vigilance. In a press release, the Region states that it is “doing everything possible to ensure, tomorrow afternoon, a partial resumption of school lines, so as to allow boarding students to return home. The resumption of commercial lines is also hoped for in the afternoon.
The Manche prefecture also announces a ban on the circulation of heavy goods vehicles throughout the department for Friday.
