Twenty-nine departments were placed on orange alert for snow and ice on Friday, November 22.
The cold persists. Météo France has issued an orange alert for snow and ice targeting 29 departments for the day of Friday, November 22.
Are concerned: Aube, Calvados, Cher, Côte-d'Or, Doubs, Eure, Eure-et-Loir, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret, Manche, Haute -Marne, Mayenne, Nièvre, Orne, Haut-Rhin, Haute-Saône, Sarthe, Paris, Seine-Maritime, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Vosges, Yonne, Territoire de Belfort, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val-d'Oise.
The low temperatures are linked to the arrival of the Caetano storm which “will cross France from west to east and cause an early and sufficiently notable winter episode to make traffic conditions difficult in the regions concerned”, explain forecasters from Meteo France.
In places, temperatures should be close to those of January.
