She expressed concern about the slowness of the process and questioned the minister on the specific measures his ministry planned to put in place to overcome these delays.
Fatima Al Tamani described living conditions “inhumane” for victims living in tents and temporary containers, despite more than a year having passed since the disaster. She criticized the inadequacy of reconstruction efforts, noting that attention seems to be focused on superficial details like painting unfinished houses, instead of focusing on basic needs such as safety and quality of construction.
In addition, she addressed the distress of traders in Talat N’Yaaqoub, a severely affected region, who face a glaring lack of premises to resume their activities. She advocates for increased support to revitalize the local economy and meet the immediate needs of the affected population.
In his appeal to the minister, Al Tamani called for concrete responses and rapid actions to improve the situation of residents of mountainous areas.
