COMMUNITY. The great Voisinades neighborhood civic festival returns for a third year in a new format.

Previously presented. in 3 separate parks, Les Voisinades will be held this year over 2 days, Saturday July 6 and Sunday July 7, at Parc Multisport Réal-Dufresne and Parc Boisvert in Shawinigan-Sud.

The new Voisinades formula: a friendly soccer tournament to strengthen the feeling of belonging of Shawinigan residents of all origins. The Shawinigan New Arrivals Welcome Service (SANA) is therefore joining forces with the Énergie Centre-Mauricie Soccer Club to organize a friendly soccer tournament upon registration which will be held at Parc Réal-Dufresne, Saturday and Sunday, thus offering citizens a unique opportunity to come together and share their passion for sport.

It is possible to register as an individual player until July 1st (limited places). The organization encourages the public to come and encourage the players who will take part in these games where multiculturalism and fun go hand in hand.

On the Boisvert Park side, SANA invites families to come and enjoy the inflatable games (Saturday) and water games while discovering the kiosks of the artisans and organizations that will be present during the weekend. An outdoor yoga class will be offered Sunday morning between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. (voluntary contribution).

A call to artisans, organizations and citizens

Citizens interested in organizing an activity as part of the Voisinades, as well as artisans and organizations in the region who wish to set up a small kiosk or simply a table in Parc Boisvert can do so provided they obtain authorization from SANA. All initiatives related to the objective of the event, allowing Shawinigan residents to meet while encouraging openness to cultural diversity, are welcome.

“As with any neighborhood celebration, we want to involve the population so that this event is like a gathering of neighbors, an opportunity to build relationships and foster a greater sense of belonging to our city, to our “neighborhood” in the broader sense,” says Mimi-Charlotte Jeannin, project manager for event organization for SANA.

Ms. Jeannin also invites organizations, artisans and anyone wishing to organize an activity as part of the event to contact her at the address: [email protected] All details concerning Les Voisinades are available on the website of the SANA at https://www.sanashawinigan.ca/evenements/voisinades/ These procedures are carried out thanks to the financial participation of the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration as part of the Community Support Program .
