The Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima and Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur regions are co-organizing from November 18 to 20, 2024 in Marseille, the Mediterranean forum on energy and climate transition, as part of the “Local Energy Climate Service (SLEC)” project. : an energy and climate transition tool serving integrated urban development”.
Present at this major event, the vice-president of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, Taoufiq El Bourch, the vice-president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region Genzana Bruno, and the vice-consul general of the Kingdom of Morocco in Marseille, Manal El Ayouchi.
The forum welcomes a Moroccan delegation of 36 members (made up of representatives of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, the eight municipalities benefiting from SLECs and representatives of the decentralized services of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region), a delegation of the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region, the associated project partners, and a delegation from the Nouakchott region.
The forum will focus on the development of multilevel cooperation and propose innovative solutions in the areas of green economy and urban governance around the SLEC project. This is a valuable opportunity for stakeholders to exchange best practices and develop concrete strategies.
This SLEC project, co-financed by the European Union, with the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region as leader and the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region as co-partner, aims to strengthen urban governance, improve the resilience of cities facing climate challenges, promote social openness and encourage prosperity and innovation in eight pilot municipalities: Tangier, Tetouan, Ouazzane, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Ksar Lekbir, Melloussa and M’diq.
This event will consist of two plenary sessions, two workshops, a round table and visits to emblematic sustainable buildings. It will also be the occasion for the meeting of the steering committee (COPIL) and the technical committee (COTECH) of the project.
