RUGBY. TRANSFER. Montauban makes a big move with the signing of a Springbok

Maintained in Pro D2 on the smallest of margins at the expense of Narbonne, USM made a nice move on the transfer market by announcing the signing of Springbok Sikhumbuzo Notshe for two years.

TRANSFER. PROD2. Never satisfied, CA Brive on pole for the arrival of a Springbok number 8?This 3rd line center, double winner of the Currie Cup and recently titled in the Challenge Cup with the Sharksleaves the Durban franchise to join France. It will be interesting to see how Notshe adapts to French rugby and the Montauban environment.

Sikhumbuzo Notshe was however highly coveted by CA Brive-Corrèze. The Corrèze club was in pole position to attract the talented Springbok. However, Montauban was able to prove himself convincingoffering Notshe a sporting project and playing conditions that made the difference.

For Montauban, this recruitment is a real masterstroke. With his 30 years, Notshe brings not only his international experience, but also a size and a dynamic game which should work wonders in Pro D2. USM supporters can look forward to seeing a player of this caliber playing under their colors.

But Notshe is not the only notable recruit from Montauban this season. The club also signed an Argentinian prop, Facundo Pomponius, thus strengthening its pack and its ambitions for the coming season. Without forgetting the three-quarter center John Thomas Jackson and the winger Paul Vallée, announces La Dépêche.

Our colleagues remind us that the USM will also be able to count on “the second lines Victor Moreaux (Perpignan) and Clément Bitz (Béziers), the Australian scrum-half Joe Powell (Lyon) and the center Maxime Espeut (Béziers)“.

With these new recruits, Montauban clearly displays its intentions in an ever more competitive second division championship. The date is set for a Pro D2 season that promises to be thrilling.
