While their site is threatened with closure, employees of the ArcelorMittal site in Denain, in the North, are continuing their strike which began on Tuesday November 19, at least until Monday November 25, reports France Bleu Nord. Production is at a standstill.
Next Monday, ArcelorMittal management is due to hold a meeting in Metz to clarify the situation for employees of the two threatened sites, in Denain and Reims. According to a CGT union source, a black day is already planned for the next day, Tuesday, on the sites of the steel giant.
ArcelorMittal announced on Tuesday, November 19, the “possible stop” of its Reims and Denain Service Center sites, due to a “sharp drop in activity” among its customers in industry and the automobile industry, “which has accelerated in recent months”.
