The Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Amélie OUDÉA-CASTERAwas on Thursday June 27, 2024 in Moselle for the passing of the Olympic flame in the department. “Metz is a particularly sporty city”says the minister.

“It’s a city where I spent some time when I was younger,” she says.

Amélie OUDÉA-CASTERA first went to the Tripoint, with a symbolic passage to Schengenin Luxembourg. “A way of highlighting European cohesion and friendship between peoples,” says the minister.

She then took over the management of Metz to witness the lighting of the Olympic cauldron by Allison Pineau, Metz Handball player, described as “a magnificent and extraordinarily committed athlete” by Amélie OUDÉA-CASTERA.

At the end of the ceremony, the Minister of Sports took the time to speak with the press in this very particular context, where the Olympic jubilation goes hand in hand with the electoral questionas early legislative elections approach:
