Successful deployment of inter-company carpooling in Lot and Aveyron

On Thursday, November 7, a press conference took place at eXcent in Figeac to unveil the first results of the inter-company carpooling project launched on October 1, 2024 by Mecanic Vallée in partnership with the Karos application. This initiative, supported by 12 companies from Lot and Aveyron and representing around 3,500 employees, aims to promote carpooling for home-work journeys.

After a month of implementation, the first figures are promising: more than 350 people have joined the Karos application, and 150 users have already made shared journeys, totaling more than 900 carpooling trips. These first results illustrate the growing interest of employees for this sustainable mobility alternative, beneficial both on a daily basis and for the environment (10,000 km of journeys avoided, a saving of +1.2 tonnes of CO2, and a gain purchasing power of more than €3,600 redistributed).

Awareness sessions were organized last week in partner companies (Figeac Aéro, Fem Technologies, Mecojit, Fermes de Figeac, Nutergia, Raynal et Roquelaure, Pivaudran, Solev, and Pattyn) to further inform employees. Ambre Ronxin, project manager for Mecanic Vallée, and Odile Proust from Figeacteurs accompanied the Karos facilitators to discuss with employees and answer their questions. The objective of these actions is to strengthen awareness of the application, encourage regular use, and maximize the positive impact of the project for all stakeholders.
