This sixth stage of the Tour de France 2024 gives pride of place to sprinters like the day before in Saint-Vulbas. A transitional stage where we can take the time to discover the landscapes of Burgundy Franche Comté. Christian Prudhomme declared about today’s stage: “ Fans of medieval architecture will be well served by the aerial images, which will not only show the Cluny Abbey. Escapees will set off with the ambition of resisting the peloton in the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise, but the sprinters should have the last word on the 800-meter straight line that presents itself in the prefecture of the Côte-d’Or.«

THE EDITOR’S OPINION: “ A second stage reserved for certainly sprinters. Only a small 4th category climb and a bonus sprint at the start of the stage should interest some riders. Then, a breakaway should form, but the chances of it reaching the end are almost zero. In Dijon, it will likely be a sprinter who will succeed Jan Ullrich, the last winner here in 1997. «
