You know them, especially if you come from BergeracTHE lagerstroemia or Indian lilac, these summer flowering trees with colorful palettes varying from red to pink to white, are celebrating their 150th anniversary.

These plantations all grow in the same place, in the Desmartis nurseries In Bergerac, which is also celebrating its 150th anniversary, this year the town and the nursery are joining forces for the event.

A busy schedule

On the program for the anniversary day: “Snow” show at the Théâtre du Vestige at 5 p.m. then, at 5:30 p.m., christening of the new variety Papillons Blanc, in honor of the association for the inclusion of disabled people Papillons Blancs in Bergerac.

Around the main event, the company sets up original activities. From July 4 to September 22, the exhibition “Illustrations around lager’s” will be presented at the Dordonha Cultural Center.

The opening weekend of the Summer Expo will have its share of conferences around the Desmartis family. The photo competition “The 4 seasons of lagerstroemia in Bergerac” is also back this year, exhibited on the internet from July 4 to August 31.
