The Rivière-du-Loup 3L officially announced Thursday the arrival of 32-year-old forward Alexandre Mallet in their lineup for next season. This talented player represents a major acquisition for the team ahead of next season.

A former second-round pick of the Vancouver Canucks, 57th overall in 2012, Alexandre Mallet has spent the last few years perfecting his game in Europe. His run in the Ligue Magnus in France is particularly impressive: in 63 games, he accumulated 70 points, spent 122 minutes in the penalty box and posted a differential of +43. His talent and determination have earned him two championship rings.

In addition to his European experience, Mallet played 170 games in the ECHL, recording 119 points. He also proved himself in the American Hockey League (AHL) with 77 games played, and had stints in the DEL and the Czech Republic. Before going abroad, he had already made an impression in the QMJHL with 120 points in 203 games.

Originally from Amqui, Alexandre Mallet is back in Quebec, and it is with the 3L that he intends to continue to enrich his track record. His return is welcomed with enthusiasm by the team and supporters.

The general manager of 3L, Fabien Dubé, commented on this signing by stating: “This is a major addition for us. Alex is a consummate professional and impact striker who fits perfectly into our structure. He can do anything on the ice. He will play a key offensive role in our lineup. He is happy to return to Bas-Saint-Laurent and wear the 3L uniform. The fans will appreciate it. »
