11 young apprentices honored at the Departmental Council

On June 21, the Gers Departmental Council welcomed into its chamber the awards ceremony for the departmental competition “One of the Best Apprentices” under the presidency of Belmir Dos Reis, president of the Best Workers of France (MOF) of the Hautes-Pyrénées and Chantal Dejean-Dupèbe, departmental councilor.

11 young people from Gers were present with their families and their apprenticeship masters to receive their distinction as best apprentice from the hands of former MOFs and departmental advisers, celebrating the passion and talent of these future artisans of excellence.

Created in 1985, the “One of the Best Apprentis in France” competition has evolved from a departmental competition to a regional and then national scale since 2001. It attracts more than 6,500 candidates each year, representing more than 120 professions. It is intended for young people under the age of 21 in initial training (CAP, Bac Pro) in public or private establishments, under school status or under an apprenticeship contract. Organized by the National Society of Best Workers of France (MOF), under the aegis of the Ministry of Labor, “ this competition is a crucial vector for transmitting excellent know-how and promoting manual trades », the Belmir Dos Reis Précisé.

During this ceremony, Eleven young apprentices were honored, representing four Gers schools: the LPO Le Garros in Auch, the Lycée Polyvalent d’Artagnan in Nogaro, the École des Métiers in Pavie, and the CFPPA du Gers in Mirande. The activity bodies represented included the building, saddlery, sports mechanics, and hairdressing.

The ceremony allowed gold, silver and bronze medals to be awarded at the departmental level, rewarding the efforts and talent of the apprentices. For some of them, these distinctions do not stop there, since they have also been medalists at the regional or national level, attesting to the recognition of their excellence on a broader scale.

Anaïs Schmitt: talent rewarded

Among the winners, Anaïs Schmitt de Saint-Sauvy, a student at LPO Le Garros, particularly distinguished herself. Gold medalist at departmental and regional levelshe was crowned Best Apprentice in France on June 7 in Lyon during the national competition in the Built Heritage category Option AIts achievement on the Larresingle school site was praised for its exceptional quality.
