Taking into account Météo France's forecasts for Thursday, November 21, 2024, the department of Finistère will be placed in a yellow weather alert state for snow and ice from 4 a.m. and for violent winds from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rules of caution
In this context, the prefect of Finistère, Alain Espinasse, calls on the population to be vigilant and recalls certain recommendations for caution:
• Be careful when traveling: anticipate risks by significantly reducing your speed on the roads;
• be attentive if you practice activities sensitive to weather risks or near a shore or a watercourse.
• be careful with auxiliary heating devices. Check their compatibility with indoor use and do not use them if you have any doubt about the conformity of their operation (risk of emitting carbon monoxide which is an odorless and deadly gas).
Depending on the wind speed, the traffic speed on the Iroise bridge in Brest could be lowered to 70 km/h by the services of Diro (West interdepartmental roads department). Users will be informed by messages broadcast on variable message signs.
As the weather situation is evolving, it is recommended to stay informed by consulting the forecasts online on the Météo France website, and to find out the traffic conditions, that of Bison Futé.
