Yellow snow-ice warning and strong wind
The department of Finistère is placed this Thursday, November 21, 2024 in a state of yellow meteorological vigilance for snow-ice from 4 a.m. and for strong wind from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In this context, the prefect of Finistère, Alain ESPINASSE, calls on the population to be vigilant and recalls certain recommendations for caution:
- be careful when traveling : anticipate risks by significantly reducing your speed on the roadses ;
- be careful if you practice activities sensitive to weather risks or near a shore or a watercourse;
- be careful with space heaters. Check their compatibility with indoor use and do not use them if you have any doubt about the conformity of their operation (risk of emitting carbon monoxide which is an odorless and deadly gas).
In order to guarantee the safety of road users,at traffic speed on the Iroise bridge in Brest could be lowered to 70 km/h by the services of the West Interdepartmental Roads Directorate, depending on wind speed. Users will be informed by messages broadcast on variable message signs.
