The municipal council met on Thursday, June 27, in Lanester, with 25 items on the agenda. At the opening, the mayor, Gilles Carréric thanked in advance those “who will make themselves available to enable the smooth running of the two upcoming elections. Your commitment is vital for maintaining democracy.”
Heading towards “neighborhood engagement 2030”
2024 marks a transition between the old and the new city contract “Neighborhood Engagement 2030”. Of the 47 proposals, nine new promoters and fourteen new actions were identified on three themes (youth, health and social ties). The list of new actions was presented on Thursday during the municipal council. Seven new projects have been integrated: mental health prevention for young people and adults in the priority neighborhood, by the Public Mental Health Establishment (EPSM) Charcot, prevention of digital risks among young people by Défis, music for all by Kabanamusik, shared store by Boutique management space (BGE), actions of the Kergaher island, Art s’éprement and Petits dégréards. The town of Lanester contributes €164,000.
€46,000 to organize the elections
The supplementary budget has been voted on. “We did not initiate new operations thanks to the surplus but we wanted, barring regulatory imperatives, to consolidate operations which had to be financed from several budgets, such as the extensions of the Barbusse school and the house of the early childhood” underlines the mayor.
Note the inclusion of a sum of €46,000 for the organization of additional elections in 2024. The municipality will benefit from aid of €5,000 from the State.
The city is also maintaining the amount allocated to the Diwan school, in support of bilingualism and Breton culture. It amounts to €6,500 for the 2023-2024 school year, or €500 per student.
