The Saphir Foundation has selected the “Saiyan” architectural project for the reconstruction of its Jura EMS. The current premises, dating from 1890, are no longer suitable and will be transferred from Ballaigues to Vallorbe by 2029. The establishment with 60 places will be located in the developing Day district.

Designed by the Pullier offices of Marzano Polikar and Patry, the winning project – among 17 candidates – will take the form of four bodies of buildings nested in a slight arc, with a concrete ground floor and prefabricated upper floors. wooden. The budget is estimated at 28.8 million francs.

EMS residents and their families were surveyed before the competition was launched. The Yverdon foundation has six EMS in northern Vaud and more than 1,000 beneficiaries.
