“In a cold atmosphere, from the beginning of the morning in northern Brittany, Lower Normandy and the north of Pays de la Loire, snowfall occurs all the way to the plains and ends up whitening the soils. “A remarkably early snow episode”
The Temps Breton account, which monitors and deciphers the weather and climate in Brittany, indicates on X (formerly Twitter) that this “snowy episode is remarkably early for the season in Côtes-d’Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine”.
In Côtes-d'Armor, snowfall, with 2 to 5 cm on the ground, is expected inland. Mainly in Kreiz Breizh, Le Mené, around Guingamp and south of Saint-Brieuc. According to Météo France, the first snowflakes should fall “from 5 a.m. Thursday”.
The last snowy episode in the department dates back to January 2024. In places, nearly 3 cm of snow fell, mainly on the coasts.
