Ardèche. Car and fuel theft: two suspects arrested by police

The case began at the end of September, with the discovery of a stolen vehicle, parked in a village in the South-Drôme. Surveillance operations are set up by the gendarmes of the anti-delinquency support and action group (G3AD) of Drôme.

The soldiers made the link with other vehicles stolen in the Rhône department and managed to identify two suspects. The latter are suspected of having committed, in Drôme, Ardèche, Isère and Rhône, a dozen vehicle thefts and around twenty fuel thefts and caravan thefts.

In the middle of last week, G3AD investigators, supported by soldiers from the specialized gendarmerie protection platoon (PSPG) of Tricastin, arrested, in the middle of the night, the two suspects who had just dropped off a stolen car. One, aged around sixty, lives in the Rhône.

The second, a forty-year-old, lives in Isère. At the end of their police custody, both were referred on Saturday November 16 to the Valencia public prosecutor's office. They were placed in pre-trial detention by the judge of freedoms and detention pending their presentation before the criminal court in January 2025.
