He has spent the last 30 years serving local authorities. In the Vosges, in Loire-Atlantique, but also in Normandy, in Eure and Calvados before reaching the south of France. Saint-Raphaël, Tournefeuille… To then “discover another land, that of Lauragais”, more precisely the town of Nailloux and its around 4,000 inhabitants. “I have worked in municipalities of various strata, with 4,500, 10,000 inhabitants, or even more, always in an upward career,” comments Christophe Hardy. Nailloux, I chose it because I felt that there was ambition within the municipal team. And I like that. »

Since Monday October 14, 2024, the native of Dieppe has been working in the premises at 1, rue de la République where he occupies an office with, for the moment, quite… impersonal decoration. “It’s still a bit Spartan,” he laughs. Appointed Director General of Services (DGS) replacing Pierre Icart – called to occupy these functions in another municipality – Christophe Hardy intends to leave his mark on his time here. “I give a very important place to Man,” he warns from the outset.

Working for good living together

And for good reason. Everything in the speech of the fifty-year-old breathes live it together and understanding. “The idea is to no longer live next door, but with othershe insists. You must be aware that each action has an impact on others. » This project to make Nailloux “a city where it is good to live together”, Christophe Hardy is already fully supporting it with the mayor, his deputies and advisors.

But the general director of services is well aware that this work will have to be carried out with the help of 60 agents which he now has under his responsibility. “The DGS is none other than the conductorthe distribution belt for municipal services, he believes. I have to be by their side every day. » Also a way of putting into practice his leitmotif: “do what I say and say what I do”. “Serenity at work is something important,” believes the neo-Naillosain. The objective is to see how collectively we can achieve make people work together. Interesting challenges await us, such as crossing the Tour de France. This will help create real teamwork. »

“Give the right temperature”

As for what the role of a “DGS” is, he explains: “We are aimed at residents of all ages: from the youngest to the oldest… and even to the cemetery. We deal with various subjects such as town planning, building maintenance, civil status and even school personnel. With always a notion of quality of response and respect for residentsbecause they are the most important in a municipality. »

And with elected officials? “Give things the right temperature he retorts. I'm not here to comment on current events and make alarming speeches – especially since I'm more of the type to see the glass half full rather than half empty. I have to be true in my wordsto best support elected officials, especially in a context where local authorities are in the midst of turbulence. »
